Embark On Your Public Speaking Journey With Confidence:

Speaking in public for the first time can be a daunting task, and something that for many may be anxiety inducing. However, there are simple ways to overcome this. I am sharing 3 of my tips to begin with.
1) Knowledge Is Power- Firstly, thoroughly research and understand the topic that you are going to speak about. The more knowledge you have acquired on your topic, the more confident you will feel.

2) Practice, Practice, Practice- make your speech your own (I will talk about this in my next post), and practice your speech and delivery, every opportunity you get. Practice in front of a mirror and visualize yourself speaking in front of a live audience. Recently based on a suggestion I had given, one of my clients propped their mobile phone on a tripod and recorded themselves delivering their speech to the camera. While we worked on multiple aspects post that, it was a very good way for them to get familiar with their materia,l and start building their confidence levels.
3) Start small, Aim Big- Deliver your speech in front of a small audience consisting of your family and friends. Make them sit in different corners of the living room and imagine that they are part of the live audience that you are going to be delivering your speech to. Interact with them, smile back if one of them smiles at you, use gestures. The more you do this the greater at ease will you feel.
